Ali Zafar and Iffat engage in intense verbal spat on Twitter

Pakistani actor Iffat Omar and singer Ali Zafar had a heated exchange on Twitter over the defamation case filed by the latter against fellow singer Meesha Shafi.

In April 2018, Shafi took to her social media and publicly accused Zafar of sexually harassing her on more than one occasion. Zafar denied the allegations and filed a defamation suit against Shafi.

There are reports that Shafi “admitted to making a false statement” after a recent hearing in the case.

Omar, on the microblogging site, responded to the reports, saying “fake news alert”. Later, Zafar accused Omar of asking publications not to post legal proceedings and organizers not to hire him.

“I understand that he who was ‘found guilty’ in the FIA report of defamation against me and admitted on camera to harassing a former colleague, was calling on the media not to press charges and the organizers not to hire me. That’s enough”.

Omar was quick to respond to the tweet, accusing Zafar of lying and challenging him to prove the allegations in court.

In it, Zafar said that those you “called to bring you familiar and bully will come to court to testify against you”.

To this, Umar replied, “Bring it to the loser.” Zafar then threatened Omar, saying that if he continues to bully and harass him, she will release her videos where she was “faced in court along with other things that are part of the story”.

Later, Zafar also accused Omar of causing distress to the women in his family and to his father, who he claimed protected her from harassment during her university years.

In it, the actress accused her father Zafar of “calling her to fix things”.

Their feud caused drama on social media with some users siding with the singer while others spoke out in support of the actor.
