The all-new BJ60 SUV for the Chinese market has been unveiled by BAIC. The state-owned business plans to pitch its full-size SUV against the Toyota Land Cruiser, Trumpchi GS8, and GWM Tank 500.

However, unlike the majority of its cross-SUV competitors, the BJ60 is an off-road SUV. It appears to be smoother and more civilized than the BJ40. It has a similar boxy appearance to its smaller version, although it seems more subtle. An imposing SUV has strong profile lines, a massive size, and a bulky appearance.

Although BAIC has not revealed the full list of features for the BJ60, it is likely to include a sophisticated infotainment system, a seven-seat arrangement, ambient lighting, several driver-assist functions, and a luxurious cabin.

The business has also not disclosed the performance numbers for the BJ60. It will, however, feature a hybrid system that allows for a zero-to-hundred acceleration time of 6 seconds and a range of 1,000 kilometers.

BAIC in Pakistan

In 2020, BAIC entered Pakistan in collaboration with Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SEWL), which also introduced us to Haval SUVs. Originally, the D20 hatchback and X25 crossover were slated to make their premiere in Pakistan. Due to increased public interest in BJ40, SEWL chose to launch it instead.

Recently discovered from an industry source that BAIC intends to introduce the X25 next, with no timetable provided. However, given the current state of the economy, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
