The Dua Zehra case appears to have sparked a national debate. Many celebrities and public figures have chimed in and expressed their opinions on social media.
Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, the late Benazir Bhutto’s daughter, has spoken out about the whole ordeal and condemned the viral photo of Dua Zehra’s nikkah.
The elder sister of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zarda posted a Tweet to claim that the nikkah is illegal because Dua is under 18. She voiced her displeasure with those who blamed the young girl.
“This is not legal as she is underage (14), so coerced and manipulated. There is zero consent at 14, and it is revolting to see so many people blame a child,” she wrote.

Dua claimed that she married in a courtroom of her own free decision. The youngster went on to say that she left Karachi on her own and that she was not kidnapped, and that she wanted to live with her husband and not return to her family.
The minor and her alleged husband, Zaheer Ahmed, are currently being held at the District Authorities Office (DPO) in Okara, according to the police. According to sources, Dua has been transferred to Lahore, and the Karachi police have been informed.
