“Extra” host Billy Bush said he “feels terrible” about Lisa Marie Presley’s death, which happened just two days after Bush interviewed her on the Golden Globes red carpet.
“I feel my heart is too heavy for almost anyone who hurts” Bush told People magazine.
Presley died Thursday at the age of 54, her heart reportedly stopped twice, and her family signed a do-not-resuscitate order. An official cause of death has not been announced.
She appeared stands and walks non-stop Tuesday as she grabbed the arm of her boyfriend, 80-year-old talent manager Jerry Schilling. In the middle of the interview with Bush, he told her on the plus one: “I’m going to hold your hand.”
“She was very uneven in her balance” Bush, 51, told Fox LA. “The speech was very slow. And sure enough, when the interview was over, I turned to my producer next to me and said, “Something’s not right here.”


“He was knowledgeable. She was definitely with it, just a second late. But it was there. It was definitely there, but a little further away in a way,” Bush added.
For interviews, the A-listers had to walk up two steps to the podium where Bush stood, but Presley, the only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, struggled to get them up.
“It was clear that he would not come on the two flights. I went down and met her on the carpet itself,” he recalled to Fox LA.

While the TV personality noticed that “something” was going on at the time, she said she never expected Presley to die. Bush pondered the possibility of “history repeating itself,” calling the ordeal “very sad.”
“Of course, you’re thinking, yes, history is repeating itself? Is this another situation like this?’ Bush continued on Fox LA, noting that Elvis died at 42 after heart problems. “It seems likely, I can’t say for sure that this is the case.”
Hollywood legend says the Presley family may be “cursed” because Elvis’ maternal grandparents were first cousins. Elvis’ own mother, Gladys, died of heart failure at age 46, while some of her siblings also died in their 40s.


According to Elvis historian Sally Hudel, the Presley lineage continues to suffer the consequences.
“Elvis was definitely a victim of his own DNA,” Hundel wrote in her book, “Destined to Die Young,” about the late King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Priscilla Presley, 77, announced the tragic death of her daughter on Thursday.
“Priscilla Presley and the Presley family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Lisa Marie,” she said in a statement to The Post. “They are deeply grateful for everyone’s support, love and prayers and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
Fellow celebrities paid their respects on social media, expressing their sadness and shock and sharing fond memories of the singer-songwriter.
