Boston's Jayson Tatum comes in sixth in 2022 Kia Most Valuable Player award

According to the NBA, All-Star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum finished sixth overall in voting for the 2022 Kia Most Valuable Player award with 8 fourth-place votes and 19 fifth-place votes from a panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters for a total of 43 points.

Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (875 total points) won the award, followed by Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers (706 points), Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (595 points), Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns (216 points), and Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks (146 total points).

The balloting, conducted by the independent accounting company Ernst and Young LLP, is the first to put Tatum in the top ten, but if the St. Louis native continues to improve his game as he has thus far in his career,,, we doubt it will be his last.
