Do Revenge Filming Locations, Cast, Synopsis, Review

Jennifer Robinson and Celeste Ballard co-wrote and directed the American teen dark comedy film Do Revenge.

Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke play two Florida high school students who take on the task of going after each other’s bullies.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Anthony Bregman, and Peter Cron of Likely Story Productions are producing the teen comedy for Netflix’s original network.

Where was Do Revenge filmed?

Do Revenge for Netflix was mostly shot in Atlanta, Georgia, in early 2021. Some sequences were also shot in Miami, Florida, the setting for the film’s plot. Specifically, the lines that do not feature Eleanor were shot in Florida.

The Rosehill Country Day School, where most of the film takes place, is not a real school. It is a fictional setting constructed by the crew.

The sequences were shot at Oglethorpe University, a legitimate Liberal arts college in Brookhaven, a northeastern Atlanta suburb. The University Campus was used for filming, and several rooms were expressly built to recreate the historical working environment.

Principal photography began in early 2021 and will conclude in August 2021. Jennifer revealed to ELLE in July 2022 that the film was originally scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California, but the filming location was relocated to Miami following a rewrite.

You’re wondering why the setting was changed in the cast. It was completed due to schedule difficulties with Maya Hawke (who is starring as Eleanor). At the time, the actress was filming Stranger Things Season 4 in Los Angeles.

Maya Hawke would find it difficult to travel to Los Angeles for filming while another production is already underway in Georgia. As a result, director Jennifer chooses to relocate the film to Georgia. This change was made six weeks before the start of production.

Synopsis

Netflix’s dark teen comedy is an outrageous female satire that follows two girls, Eleanor and Drea, who band up to go after each other’s tormentors.

Review

The majority of critics have given the film positive reviews, which it merits. From Kissing Booth to Never Have I Ever flicks, this is the type of film that Netflix should specialise on.

Teenage dramas are becoming increasingly popular, and no one wants to watch low-budget films with a single hero and heroine.

The film Do Revenge is based on the 1951 thriller Strangers on a Train, which was based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel of the same name. Jennifer and Celeste have crafted a fantastic plot that revolves around the downfall of the two people’s social status rather than trying to kill them.

Overall, the film is amazing, feminist satire, lively, and relatable with the ladies seeking vengeance on those who have wronged them. We’re hoping for a Do Revenge 2 sequel, but the tale appears to be finished.
