Zadorov whacked Glendening up high with his elbow in the second period of Friday night’s Game 6, forcing the veteran center to exit the game temporarily with an upper-body injury. After the game, head coach Rick Bowness told reporters that he didn’t know whether Glendening would be ready to play in Game 7 but struggled with a different lower-body issue.
Zadorov was not penalized on the play and played 18:42 in Calgary’s 4-2 defeat. Bowness referred to the strike as a “headshot” after the game.
The two clubs will play Game 7 in Calgary on Sunday night, with the victor advancing to face the Edmonton Oilers vs. Los Angeles Kings series winner, which will be determined Saturday night.
