Free flour for all needy people


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said that provision of free flour to the needy should be ensured with an aim to reduce the hardships of people in the month of Ramadan.

He was presiding over a review meeting here to provide free flour to the residents of the capital Islamabad. He said that the government is taking all possible measures to reduce the hardships of poor people in Ramadan.

“After my visits to Lahore, Kasur and Sargodha, I will also visit other cities to supervise the process of supplying free flour and ensure quality.”

The Prime Minister directed that those eligible people who were not enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) and could not get free flour be enrolled immediately. He directed to open counters of National Database and Records Authority (NADRA) and BISP at flour distribution points immediately.

He also called on any needy person who comes to the free flour distribution center to be given flour and for this to be taken measures by all the relevant departments. The meeting was told that provision of free flour was continuing in Punjab, Khyer Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad and a large number of families were benefiting from the scheme.

It was said that the number of free flour distribution centers was increasing in Islamabad to facilitate people coming to procure flour. Federal Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Marriyum Aurangzeb, Adviser to Prime Minister Ahad Cheema, former members of National Assembly Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Anjum Aqeel and concerned officers attended the meeting.
