Hitman 3 studio’s 007 James Bond game set for 2025 at the earliest

The James Bond license and Hitman 3 creator IO Interactive are a pairing made in heaven. The sneaky infiltrations, cunning conversations, and expert gunfights of Agent 47 are exactly what 007 should accomplish in a computer game. Unfortunately, it appears that we will have to wait a bit to witness Bond in action.

According to games writer @DarkDetectiveNL on Twitter, IO Interactive made an especially fascinating comment in their 2021/2022 annual report, which wraps up the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022. “There is a possibility that earnings may fall over the next several calendar years,” according to the research. “This is owing to the lengthy manufacturing phases that will occur before the future releases hit the market.” More specifically, predictions for fiscal years 2024 and 2025 suggest a considerable drop.” In other words, IOI plans to lose money until the release of its next game, which won’t happen until the end of the fiscal year 2025. As of now, IOI’s fiscal year 2025 ends on March 31, 2025, thus we shouldn’t anticipate the 007 games to be released before then.

However, there is some good news in the IOI report. According to the studio’s CEO, Hitman 3 is going incredibly well, with “300% greater” sales than Hitman 2. As a result, according to the article, IOI “is exploring building more subsidiary studios in other countries to satisfy [its] demands for expansion.” That’s an excellent problem to have.

We certainly know very little about what IOI is preparing for the forthcoming 007 games. At the very least, it will have its own version of James Bond and its own tale, with the prospect of a trilogy, similar to the present Hitman series. Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the 007 film franchise, appears to be happy with IOI’s involvement because of its success with Hitman.

Along the same lines, Hitman 3 continues to get monthly content roadmaps. August 2022 saw the reintroduction of the Floral Baller pistol, as well as the reappearance of Elusive Targets. The new content for September 2022 has been teased with a gif of a glow-in-the-dark costume.
