Girls from Ujjain who mixed Bollywood songs into Instagram reels on the grounds of the Shri Mahakaleshawar temple are at the centre of a controversy that started because of what they did.
Narottam Mishra, the home minister for the state of Madhya Pradesh, heard about the girls on Tuesday. They had made an Instagram video. They were both in a Ujjain temple at the same time.
The girls who made Instagram reels with Bollywood songs on the grounds of the Mahakal temple in Ujjain and inside the sanctum sanctorum have become the centre of controversy.
The video and the social media post that went with it quickly got a lot of attention.
I have asked the Police Chief and the Collector to look into it. Mishra said that any attempt to make religious beliefs look bad would not be accepted. It said that a young woman who was doing Jalabhishek in the holiest part of the Shri Mahakaleshawar temple filmed the video that has since gone viral. The other young woman took a video of herself while walking around the temple grounds.
After the video got a lot of attention, Mahesh Guru, the priest of the Mahakal Temple, said that the girls should be punished because the video went against Sanatan tradition and was offensive. The holy feel of the temple was ruined by the presence of these kinds of videos. The priest also said that the people who worked at the Mahakal Temple weren’t doing their jobs.
