Cliff Kingsbury is on an indefinite exotic vacation.
Kingsbury was fired by the Cardinals after the team finished a disappointing 4-13 last season. On Fox Sports’ NFL pregame show Saturday, Peter Schrager reported that Kingsbury has no intention of coaching in 2023.

“One of the guys that’s been mentioned as an offensive coordinator candidate for everywhere from New England to L.A. [the Rams] is the recently fired Cliff Kingsbury. I don’t know if this is breaking news or not — Kliff Kingsbury is in Thailand right now. He bought a one-way ticket to Thailand,” Schrager said.
“He has already been contacted by several different teams about whether he would like to interview for a job. He said, “No, I’m fine.” He is paid five years under the Arizona Cardinals guarantee. This check is done every two weeks. He will take his time before he knows if he wants to return to football. At the moment he has told all the teams that he is not interested in returning at the moment.”
Sean McVay will return to the Rams for the 2023 season, and Kliff Kingsbury has not expressed interest in coaching next season. Lamar Jackson won’t play this weekend, but when will he be back?@PSchrags keeps us informed 🔎⬇️ pic.twitter.com/b3V2m2OE3X

It is unknown how many millions Kingsbury, 43, still owes the Cardinals. It’s also possible that his contract has offset language, meaning that if he took another coaching job he would essentially be working for free.
Soccer coaches are a different breed and many actually choose this option. Matt Patricia, for example, worked on Bill Belichick’s Patriots staff the past two seasons despite being owed money on the Lions’ guarantee.

While they have yet to be photographed together across the hemisphere, Kingsbury’s girlfriend Veronica Bielik recently posted photos on Instagram from Thailand and Cambodia.
