Here are some nuggets from the Mets’ spring training on Saturday:
In the vogie
Daniel Vogelbach went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the Mets’ 5-2 split-squad victory over the Marlins on Saturday in Port St. Lucy. Both of his hits were singles to right field that likely would have landed on the changeup last year.

Mixed bags
Jose Buto struck out four, but went two over 1 ²/₃ innings and was removed after 43 pitches. The right-hander allowed one earned run.
It caught my attention
TJ McFarland threw a slider that broke the bat of Peyton Burdick on a grounder at third base in the fifth inning. Veteran left-hander McFarland, who played for Buck Showalter with the Orioles, is in camp on a minor league contract.
Sunday’s schedule
Max Scherzer wants to start against the Nationals in Port St. Lucy.
