Pakistani television is experiencing a new trend with the introduction of short series on channels. After Yasir Hussain’s Aik Thi Laila, we get to see Sar e Rah, which is not only a limited series but also an earth-shattering concept. Big names such as Saba Qamar, Muneeb Butt, Sunita Marshall, Saboor Aly and Hareem Farooq are connected to the series. The concept breaks stereotypes and everyone is doing his or her best to make the series a big hit among the masses. The last episode 4 focused on the story of Muneeb Butt, also known as Sarang Shabbir, who is an intersex person.
His song had contributions from Nabeel Zafar and Javeria Saud. The story shows the importance of acceptance, education and how a parent can make or break a child. Muneeb not only had to undergo changes in his behavior to portray Sarang on screen, but also had to undergo a physical transformation. He looks very different than usual and revealed some key preparation points about his character in his latest Vlog. He shared that he has not been offered this character, but he has spoken to the director himself that he wants to take this on. He shaved his signature beard and also epilated his arms and had his eyebrows shaped to get fully into the character. This is how he looked in the drama:
Here Muneeb prepares for his role as Sarang in Sar e Rah. Later, he also surprised his family with his new appearance and his mother and daughter were surprised while Minal Khan’s husband, Ahsan Mohsin Ikram, did not recognize him at first.
