Nawaz tells PML-N to prepare for election

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has instructed party leaders and workers to prepare for the Punjab elections. PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif passed the directives while presiding over a consultative meeting of the party leadership in London, the minister said in a series of tweets. Marriyum said that Quaid Nawaz Sharif also instructed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is also the PML-N chairman, to form a Parliamentary Council.

He said PML-N Quaid had asked the party leaders and workers to contest the elections in Punjab with full passion, confidence, strength and preparations. The minister mentioned that Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N will emerge victorious in the elections. The meeting was also attended by PML-N Chairman Shehbaz Sharif, who was instructed to form a parliamentary board. In addition, Maryam Nawaz, who was recently appointed as the chief organizer of the party, will go to Pakistan later this month, he announced. Nawaz also called for a new narrative to be created before the elections. He stated that the default mantra of former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, that the country was almost bankrupt, should be directed against him. Instead, he said a narrative should be built that Imran was the one who pushed the country towards bankruptcy and the current financial crisis. With nothing good to expect from Imran, Nawaz said it was the PML-N that had saved the country.
