Pakistan Muslim League-N Senior Vice President and Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz said on Thursday that her party will sweep the upcoming elections by defeating political rivals. Accompanied by Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah, PML-N leaders including Saud Majeed and others, she was addressing a press conference here. He said that PML-N was fully prepared to contest the upcoming elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa and National Assembly seats. “PML-N is the largest political party of the county which will sweep the upcoming elections by defeating Imran Khan and his allies,” he said. The PML-N senior vice president said there is no truth in the propaganda of political victimization. He said the person should be punished and brought to justice who committed guilt and crime. “We are not in favor of political victimization and it is clear that there is no truth in the propaganda of political victimization raised by our political opponents,” he said. He said that our political opponents were making false and baseless propaganda that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had some difference with the party leadership.
Former prime minister, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is like that of my brother and he is our comrade,” he said, adding that Abbasi was like that member of the Sharif family. He said that PML-N had made all arrangements to contest the upcoming elections. Referring to the Peshawar Mosque blast, she questioned why the border with a neighboring country was opened by the previous regime. “Who opened the border for terrorists,” he asked. Maryam said that the previous regime was responsible for the miseries, problems and difficulties faced by the masses. “Wrong economic policies introduced by the Imran Khan-led government have caused financial constraints for the people of the country,” he said.
He strongly condemned the Pehswar blast which claimed innocent lives of policemen. She regretted that the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) did not even have a building for an office in Peshawar despite the fact that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) had remained in power in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa for 10 years. The PML-N senior vice president said huge funds were provided to the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa to fight terrorism and ensure rule of law, adding that even the KP police could not be equipped with modern weapons and equipment. “The PTI-led KPK government could not even set up a crime lab as they are still using the Punjab government’s crime lab,” he added. He said he was in favor of protecting the rights of the journalistic community.
However, he said that some wrong persons in the guise of so-called journalists were making false and baseless propaganda against the government and PML-N. He said that with the guidance of PML-N central leadership, a party campaign had been started from Bahawalpur.
