Ranveer Singh revealed that his father, Jugjeet Singh Bhavnani, inspired him to play the lead part in his next film Jayeshbhai Jordaar.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the 83-year-old actor opened up about his father’s struggles and obstacles in providing a better life for his family.
“I pulled a lot from that aspect of my upbringing, from witnessing how my father was with us as a family,” the 36-year-old actress remarked.
“It’s as if we were the only thing that mattered to him. “I have seen my father go through many adversities relentlessly, doggedly keep going to fight those adversities, overcome those obstacles so that he can give us a better life so that he can protect us, so that no matter what he is going through, or the challenges that he is facing – never to let that come onto us; shielding us from the differences,” Ranveer said about his role in the comedy-drama. I’ve seen it firsthand and understood it even then, but I now have a much deeper understanding of it.”
“In retrospect, now that I am a man, I can understand at a deeper level how difficult it must have been, how demanding it must have been, and how much it must have taken from him,” he concluded.
“I now have a much deeper respect for what my father accomplished for me because of portraying Jayeshbhai,” Ranveer said.
Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah also star in the film. It will be released in theatres on May 13, 2022.
