At a WWE live event in Bismarck, North Dakota over the weekend, Seth Rollins, Austin Theory, and The Miz did their best impressions of The Shield.
Fans at Bismarck Event Center booed loudly when Bobby Lashley, Dolph Ziggler, and Kevin Owens did the Shield’s signature hand pose during the main event Street Fight. As you can see in this video, after the pose, they set up Lashley for a Shield Triple Powerbomb, and Rollins did a Roman Reigns-style howl to make fun of the fans who were booing. Just as Rollins was about to pick up Lashley, Ziggler hit him with a superkick, which made the fans very happy. In the end, the babyfaces won the match when Lashley pinned Theory.
The Shield had their last match as a group on April 21, 2019, at a live event called “The Shield’s Final Chapter.” Jon Moxley left WWE to join AEW not long after the one-hour WWE Network special. The Shield beat Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre, who were then the bad guys, as Reigns, Rollins, and an emotional crowd said goodbye to Dean Ambrose.
As we already said, UFC legend Daniel Cormier will be in charge of the Rollins vs. Matt Riddle Fight Pit at Extreme Rules. Since TKO or submission are the only ways to win in Fight Pit, fans could see a very different side of Rollins this Saturday. The Visionary would have to slow down from his usual fast-paced style. Rollins showed signs of the same thing last Monday on “WWE Raw,” when he beat Rey Mysterio with the Peruvian Necktie for his first-ever submission win in a singles match in WWE. Due to his experience in MMA, Riddle is the odds-on favourite to win the grudge match between the two rivals.
