Fans haven’t stopped fawning since BTS member Suga and singer PSY lavished each other with love and appreciation in a new interview.
PSY recently shared an interview on his YouTube channel in which he discussed how he admired and looked up to the artist. Working with PSY was like working with an “old childhood pal,” he said.
On the other side, the Gangnam Style hitmaker thanked BTS members RM, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, noting that he had wished them well.
Suga said in the video, “He (PSY) was always someone I was grateful for.” He paved the way for K-pop in the United States with Gangnam Style, and we were able to easily follow in his footsteps. Since I was a child, I’ve been a huge fan. I grew up listening to his music.”
“I was second on Billboard’s Hot 100 for seven weeks straight,” PSY said. With my next tune, I figured I’d be first. I was disappointed since it never arrived. I wanted someone to be the first to enter. My wish was granted by BTS… Looking back on BTS’s accomplishments in 2017, I expected them to be both thrilled and nervous.”
He also claimed to have seen Suga’s Daechwita, which he characterized as “so raw, yet so modern.”
“I knew I wanted to work with him and hoped to do so in the near future if given the opportunity,” PSY said of his collaboration with Suga. Imagine my surprise when I got a text from him.”
“PSY was not at all what I had envisioned,” Suga said, complimenting him. He stated that he wanted to be inspired by the younger generation. Working with him didn’t feel like work. It seemed like I was collaborating with an old childhood friend.”
