POLICE have issued an alert after a local teenager went missing and was last seen last night.
Scottie Dean Morris, 14, has been found safe after being missing for more than a week.
What happened to Indiana teenager Scotty Morris?
Morris is a teenage resident of Eaton, Indiana who went missing in March 2023.
As reported by FOX59 NewsMorris was now safe.
On Friday, March 24, 2023, the Eaton Indiana Police Department shared the news at official Facebook page.
They wrote in part in the post: “We have THE BEST update to give.
“Scotty has been located and found safe!
“Doctors are checking him right now and we will be doing interviews.
The post continued: “More information to follow.
“We want to thank all the agencies, departments and volunteers who helped!”
On March 25, the department posted a Facebook update to Morris, revealing that he had been found by an Eaton officer at Hartford Street & Harris Street.
He was then taken to the IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital ER “for a check-up.”
With the help of Delaware County CPS, the teenager was “placed in a safe environment.”
The post continued: “The family is cooperating with every aspect of the investigation.
“Interviews will continue later today.
“We would like to thank EVERYONE for all their help over the last eight days.”
When did Scottie Morris go missing?
Before he was found, Morris was last seen on March 16, 2023, and local authorities sent out a Silver Alert to alert citizens of his disappearance.
That evening at 8.30 p.m. CST, was spotted wearing a white shirt with red and black shorts.
Police believed he was in “extreme danger” and had said he “may require medical attention”.
The night after Morris was reported missing, the Eaton Indiana Police Department announced via Facebook: “Scotty, if you see this, please know that we are doing everything we can to get you any help you may need and to make sure that you are safe and warm.
“There has been a huge outpouring of support from the community and we thank all of you who have volunteered during this time! We will continue to post updates as we receive them.
“We currently have over 100 volunteers looking for Scotty Morris which is so amazing and we are so grateful!
“DNR has two boats on the river, EPD has 2 infrared drones and Grant County is sending 2 bloodhound teams.
“If anyone has contact with Scotty, please let them know we are here to help in any way we can!”
Anyone with information on Morris’ whereabouts was directed to call EIPD at (765)-747-7878.
What did Scotty Morris’ mother say after he disappeared?
In her own statement, Morris’ mother, Felicia Morris, addressed both him and the public.
She pleaded through WHHR: “Scotty, I love you and I want you to come home.
“I know you’re crazy and confused and I’m afraid all of this scares you.
“Everyone is looking out for you and we’re not trying to scare you.
“You are not in trouble. If you are at home and [the police] come to you and you don’t want to go out because it’s the cops, reach out.
“Daddy and I will come pick you up, okay?”
